An educational project “Introduction of innovative technologies into the educational process” is being implemented at WKSU named after M.Utemisov, within the framework of which an annual competition of scientific and methodological works of the teaching staff of the university is held. The result of innovation and design activities is a real innovative product (electronic textbook, training simulator, innovative training, etc.). The works of the contest participants are published in the annual collection “School of Excellence”. Below are some of the work of the teaching staff of the accredited EP:

In the educational process, OP 6B01405 Visual Arts and Drawing, 6B01406 –Art work and design at school; 6В02106 Decorative art, 6В02107 Design, 6B02108 Fashion and design of costume; 6B02109 Interior Design, 7M02107 Design introduces and uses active and innovative teaching methods: social and psychological training, organization of teamwork, reproductive training (control of intermediate results and their evaluation), problem-based learning (finding a solution), dialogue, interactive training, lecture with elements of a heuristic conversation; lecture-discussion; feedback lecture; lecture consultation, discussion (debate); moderation (with its techniques: synectics, brainstorming, semantic field, mind-mapping, hot stool, point issues, etc.); role-playing (business, simulation-modeling) game; presentation; socio-psychological training; case studies; master class, etc. Among the innovative methods and technologies - the method of creative tasks used in the disciplines of the theoretical cycle, the method of modeling the creative process, the technology of critical thinking. Indicators of the effectiveness of the application of these teaching methods are, first of all, the results of current academic performance, final state certification of graduates and their degree of satisfaction with the quality of training.

During the academic year, in order to disseminate best practices, methodical weeks are traditionally held in the faculties, master classes, presentations, and open classes are videotaped. For example, the faculty of culture and art spent the following thematic weeks, where teachers of accredited EPs actively participated:

- Methodical week "Information and communication technologies in the teaching of disciplines of the specialties of culture and art" (March 14-19, 2016). Lecturer of the department Fayzullina E. made a presentation on the topic "Interactive learning - one of the forms of effective pedagogical technologies"; Bisakaeva N. held a master class on the theme “Application of color in environmental design”, etc.

- Methodical week "Improving pedagogical skills as a condition for the formation of professional and creative abilities of students", dedicated to the 85th anniversary of WKSU (April 10-14, 2017). Senior Lecturer, Bazarbaeva A. held a master class "The main stages of the architect's work in the design of individual residential buildings";

- Methodical week of the faculty of culture and art in conjunction with the Kurmangazy College of Music on the theme “Contemporary Kazakhstani culture in the world - the future of the nation” (04.24.2018). Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Utegenov I. held a master class "The modern direction of the urban planning structure", candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor of WKSU Vorozheykina O. held a master class "Fundamentals of Design and Computer Graphics", etc.

- Methodical week “The role of the development of creative skills in the preparation of specialists in the field of culture and art” (April 29-May 10, 2019). For faculty faculty. Head of the Department, candidate of pedagogical sciences Kainbaeva Zh. held a master class "Development of competency-based tasks for students."

The educational-methodical work of the department is supervised by the methodical seminar of the department, at the meetings of which discussions are held on the problems of improving the quality of teaching using active teaching methods and innovative technologies. The aim of the methodological seminar of the department is to continuously improve the pedagogical skills of teachers, their erudition and competence in the taught disciplines.

In WKSU on a systematic basis, the courses "Management in Education" are held to form and expand knowledge and competencies in the field of theory and practice of management in the system of higher education. The manager in higher education is a multidisciplinary manager responsible for staff, reporting, the regularity of the pedagogical process, the quality of educational services and the competitiveness of the educational institution. The students of this course are the heads of the structural divisions of the university. The course is based on the regulatory framework for managing a higher educational institution, the basics of personnel management in educational organizations, marketing in the educational field, planning and organizing the activities of the pedagogical process, managing labor motivation, control in the educational process, etc.

For example, in accordance with the order of the rector of WKSU No. 013-255/1 dated 06/18/2018, the heads of the department of the department of culture and arts were trained. The course provided for increasing managerial effectiveness, students gained skills in organizing teamwork, successfully realizing the leadership potential of both their own and teaching staff, developing and implementing the development strategy of the educational institution, increasing the competitiveness of the university, ensuring a stable recruitment at the EP and more effectively managing innovative processes in OP department.

Also, all heads of departments, heads and methodologists of the training department were trained at a seminar organized by the National Office of the Erasmus + program in Kazakhstan in conjunction with the WKATU named after Zhangir Khan, with the support of the Executive Agency of the European Commission for Education, Audiovisual Media and Culture on the topic “Modern Approaches to the Development of Educational Programs” (June 17-18, 2019), underwent training at the course “Methodology” at the Center for Continuing Education of the WKSU named after M. Utemisov and distance learning technology ”(May 13-31, 2019).

Every year, teachers of the department take advanced training courses both in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the near and far abroad (KazNAI named after T.Zhurgenov, Aktobe State University named after K.Zhubanov, Krasnodar State University of Culture and Arts, Kazimir Veliky University of Bydgoszcz, Belgium Mons University, Faculty of Interpretation and Translation, University of Kurukshetra (India), Saratov State Technical University named after Yu.Gagarin, Center for Pedagogical Excellence AEO Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" (Astana), JSC "National Center for professional development "Orleu" (Almaty), "National Entrepreneurship Development Fund "Damu", Center of Excellence WKSU etc.).

As part of academic mobility, the department concluded agreements with the University of Mainz (Germany), Orenburg State University named after Chkalov, Krasnodar State University of Culture and Art, Kazan State Institute of Culture (Kazan), the "International Educational Corporation" (KazGASA campus), Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay (Almaty), T.K.Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, Almaty University LLP with goals - mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education and science, exchange of experience on innovative, interactive teaching methods for students, postgraduate teachers preparation, passage of scientific internships for undergraduates.

According to agreements with foreign educational institutions, information is exchanged on new teaching methods, scientific and methodological literature, and scientists and specialists exchange. In October - November 2016, November 2018, Dr. PhD of Philosophy of Art, chairman of the fine arts, professor of the University of Kurukshektra from India, Ram Viranjan, came to the department of fine art and design. Held a training seminar on the topic: "Contemporary art as a means of integrating the individual into world culture", master classes "Acrylic painting technique in modern art" and "Watercolor portrait painting technique." In 2017, guest lectures of the doctor of pedagogical sciences A. Gorbachev were held. Krasnodar Institute of Arts and Culture on the theme: "Theory and methodology of artistic and aesthetic education."

Teachers of the department took part in the International Summit on Culture and Education (Kazan, Russia), in the international exhibition of artists at the Lucknow Academy of Arts (Lucknow, India). Teachers of the department annually undergo foreign internships, collaborate with international companies VOITH HYDRO (Austria), Cerrone Gioielli, a world leader in jewelry, and long-time partner Mr. Krishi Gaetano and his project "Laboratory of Dreams", take part in national and international conferences. The results of the scientific work of the teachers of the department are published in foreign scientific journals (Russia, Poland, Hungary).

In the educational process of the Department of Visual arts and design, 17 specialized classrooms are used for teaching special disciplines, 1 reading room for 80 seats, 2 computer classes, a sports hall with a total area of 350 sq.m.

Contracts were signed for students to complete practical training in the specialties of OP 6B01405 Visual Arts and Drawing, 6B01406 –Art work and design at school –411 contracts with organizations and enterprises of the city. According to OP 6V02106 Decorative art - 15 contracts. According to OP 6V02107 Design, 6B02108 Fashion and costume design; 6B02109 Interior Design, 7M02107 Design - 29 contracts. An important factor in cooperation with employers is the involvement of employers in the SAC. The number of agreements, memoranda, agreements with accredited foreign universities and research centers is 25.
