In 1991, OP 6B02105 Choreography was headed by Ph.D., Professor, graduate of the Alma-Ata Choreographic College named after A.Seleznev Zholtaev A.A. (1992-1999). A significant event was the creation of the Arna ensemble in 2001, which managed to gain recognition not only in Kazakhstan, but also in many cities of the Russian Federation and abroad (Samara, Saratov, Orenburg, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan).
The ensemble is a regular participant in cultural events of the city, region, republic and creative contests and festivals.
Important events related to choreographic art are not forgotten, which made a great contribution to the development of professional skills, remaining in the history of the Choreography of the West Kazakhstan University named after M.Utemisov. One of them, the Republican Kazakh Dance Competition named after Sh.Zhienkulova was revived on the initiative of the Choreography Department. On the basis of the WKSU in 2001, the II-th, and in 2006 – the III-th competition was held, which brought together 380 participants from all over Kazakhstan and Russia, and its jury was headed by People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Ayukhanov B.G. The Arna Ensemble twice won the Grand Prix of the competition named after Sh.Zhienkulova.
With the work and skill of the teaching staff of OP 6B02105 Choreography, the Western School of Kazakh Dance was created, based on the experience and analysis of the work of predecessors: Sh.Zhienkulova, D.Abirov, Z.Raibaeva, B.Ayukhanova, O.Vsevolodskaya-Golushkevich, etc.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, OP 6B11102 – Choreography took the 2nd place in the Rating of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken".
